Spinal Traction Force : some novelty!

The spine, due to its low sensitivity to the growth hormone, is streched while the body is growing, between the brain on one end and the filum terminale on this other end. This leads to a physiolgical tension named spinal traction force (STF). This concept is now widely used in osteopathic treatments because STF can be abnormaly high (dysharmonic heterogenic growth but also visceral tensions or emotional somatization) , can be almost absent (traumatic section of the spine, vascular cerebral accident) or 'in pieces' (discontinuous tension when discal hernias occur). The few cases shown here illustrate a possible 'cutting' of the spine, not tranversaly but longitudinaly.
